Unemployment in Ukraine is twice as high as official - expert

Real unemployment in Ukraine is up to 18%, which is twice as high as official figures. This was stated by the former Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Andriy Reva on August 4 on Channel Five. If we have 1.5 1.7 million unemployed people, this means 9% of the unemployed people. If today about 3 million, then this figure can be multiplied by two. This is 15 16%, up to 18% of the active population are unemployed. This is a colossal figure, he said. The ex-minister noted that after the completion of field work, the number of unemployed will still increase due to seasonal unemployment. This problem will become very acute. Especially for the autumn-winter period, Reva added. According to the news agency, earlier experts from the Center for Economic Strategy reported on underestimated official unemployment in Ukraine. According to them, in reality, unemployment in Ukraine reaches 17%.
