Japanese ministers visit temple - symbol of militarism

On August 15, Japan celebrates the Day of Remembrance of the End of the War, or by the official name introduced in 1982, the Day of Mourning for the Dead and Pleas for Peace. Yesterday, in honor of the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II, four ministers from the cabinet of Shinzo Abe visited the Yasukuni temple. This was reported by the Kyodo news agency. Recall that the peculiarity of the Yasukuni temple is that they honor the Japanese military, who gave their lives for the emperor during the Second World War. These military men have been declared criminals by an international tribunal. The existence of the Yasukuni temple, and most importantly its visit to the first persons of modern Japan, has repeatedly provoked protest from South Korea and China, the most affected by Japanese militarism during the Second World War. The Prime Minister of Japan refused this year to visit the temple, which is discontent with the world community. However, Abe made a ritual offering of tamagusi on behalf of the president of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party through his representative.
