LG withdrew a batch of TVs due to problems with power boards
The South Korean company LG Electronics recalled about 60 thousand OLED TVs to replace defective components that can lead to the failure of the device. This was reported by Yonhap. Defective components were installed in the power boards of about 60 thousand TVs with OLED displays released between February 2016 and September 2019. The overheating problem arose only in very few models that used these components, but we will provide free replacement of all for the safety of our customers, LG said. The company added that the replacement of faulty components in about 22 thousand televisions has already been carried out. It is noted that this problem was not identified in models that were supplied outside South Korea. As previously reported by the news agency, on July 24, the South Korean company LG Display launched the production of OLED panels at a plant in the Chinese city of Guangzhou.
