Ukraine refused to finance Crimean-Tatars TV channel ATR

The Ukrainian authorities decided to stop financing the Crimean-Tatars TV channel ATR. This was announced during the broadcast on the official ATR channel in YouTube by Deputy General Director of the TV channel Aider Muzhabayev. According to him, a meeting was held in the State Council of Ukraine, during which it was decided that the amount of 50 million UAH (about two million dollars) will not be allocated for the financing of the TV channel. Muzhabayev said that as an alternative to the TV channel offered to hold competitions for the production of content. He noted that the TV channel will continue its broadcasting in emergency mode, for example, on the air will be shown footage with disconnection from the broadcast of ATR TV channel. Since the summer of 2015, ATR began broadcasting from Kiev due to the non-issuance of a license on the territory of Russian Crimea.
