Economic activity in South Korea increased in April - OECD
South Korea's economic activity rate in April was 99.9 points, up 0.1 points from a month ago, according to free leading index (CLI) data from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). South Korea's figure is known to have been rising for eight consecutive months since last September. On the other hand, economic activity in the US and Japan fell by 0.4 points, to 97.4 points and 98.4 points, respectively. In Germany, the figure decreased by 3.1 points, to 93.7 points, in Italy by 2.2 points, to 95.6 points. The OECD issues a leading indicator for early signals of economic growth or decline. It takes into account a number of indicators in 39 countries (33 OECD countries China, Brazil, India, Indonesia, South Africa and Russia) preceding the change in the dynamics of macro-indicators, and can be considered a short-term forecast of economic development.
