Hawaii to introduce mandatory quarantine for arrivals from abroad

Due to the spread of a new type of coronavirus, Hawaii will introduce a mandatory two-week home quarantine. This is reported by Yonhap News with reference to representatives of the Consulate General of South Korea in Honolulu. According to them, quarantine measures will enter into force on March 26 and will apply to both local residents and residents of the island and foreigners. It is known that all quarantine costs will be borne by those arriving in Hawaii. For violation of recommendations there is a fine of up to $5 000 or imprisonment for up to one year. The Consulate General added that despite the spread of coronavirus, South Korean citizens could be in the United States under a visa-free regime for up to 90 days. It is noted that since 19 March, Guam has also introduced a fourteen-day quarantine for all foreigners coming from countries where cases of infection have been recorded and without a health document.
